Though the name of this tiny spot implies authenticity, the menu suggests otherwise. On one end you'll find Mexican staples such as tacos, tortas and tostadas, as well as larger platters like fajitas. But there's also an all-day breakfast lineup loaded with American options such as eggs Benedict and cinnamon french toast. Even more confounding? The deli-style lunch menu with tuna salad sandwiches and other gringo faves (pizza puffs!). The space, cute and squeaky clean with bright yellow walls and Mexican folk art murals, is a great place to enjoy a casual burrito. But a chicken Caeser salad? Not so much.

Andersonville, and Chicago, really needed a place like this. It's a hole in the wall in a sense but the owner has done everything he can to make it...
