A reverence for traditional American breakfast fare unites restaurateur Jerry Suqi and chef Jeffrey Mauro at this Ukie Village spot. “Breakfast hasn’t received the culinary attention it deserves,” says Suqi, who owns Chickpea and was behind flashy nightspots like Sugar and La Pomme Rouge. Mauro certainly has the culinary chops to elevate breakfast cuisine—he’s been at Bradley Ogden (Las Vegas), Trotter’s and North Pond, as well as Suqi’s La Pomme Rouge. Here he focuses on breakfast classics, adding some innovations with help from a kitchen team that includes sous chef Mike Noll, who's logged time at Schwa. Look for dishes such as malted custard French toast with macerated stone fruit, lime leaf cream and crushed pink peppercorns, and the signature Jamburger, two beef patties layered with smoked tomato sauce, butterkase and a fried egg. Almost everything is made in house, from sausages to biscuits to (of course) jam. A subdued dining room decor fuses modern and classic elements, with mirrors and ornate sconces on the walls and concrete tables set off by vibrant green placemats and Plexiglas chairs.
