Hub 51: User Reviews
I try to experience a new restaurant every weekend, and was very excited to try Hub 51. Knowing the family history and loving every Lettuce restaurant I have ever dined at, I had high hopes. We arrived twenty minutes early to enjoy a drink and get a feel for the bar and restaurant atmosphere. The first problem was they didn't carry my drink of choice, which is Captain Morgan rum. The waitress suggested a alternative called Sailor Jerry which I had never heard of and it didn't do the trick. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and ordered the recommended chicken nachos appetizer. The nachos arrived cold and hard and were as good as you would find on an all you can eat football buffet at any corner bar. Three bites into the appetizer the entree arrived, the flavorless Salmon my wife ordered was only seared and raw on the inside, not charred grilled as described. Both meals were sent back to the kitchen to be held warm until we finished the nachos. When the food returned it was dry from being held under warming lights and a real disappointment. The Manager arrived at our table unrequested to apologize for the problems and offered a carrot cake to take home. The carrot cake was the best part of the meal. The overall experience was a real let down for our sweetest day dinner. This being a nice location and having a decent atmosphere could have been a great experience but will now be on the do not return list.

While the food was good and the portions generous, it was very difficult to enjoy the dinner with friends. The noise level is many decibels beyond the normal range of enjoyable sound. Diners cannot carry on a conversation without shouting - it's possible to leave the restaurant with a sore throat due to extreme conversation. Because of the very modern decor (high ceilings, tile floors and large open areas), the sound is exascerbated. There were many diners in their 20's and 30's at tables around us - all shouting their conversations too - that is in between texting (LOL). One other very important note is that the waite staff seriously needs better training. Our waitress was very sweet but clueless when it came to proper serving etiquette and was very light in knowledge of the menu even though she carried on about how long she had been working at Hub51. The bar was crowded and the restaurant busy because I think this is one of the current scenes for partying. If that's what the owners are relying on for long term business - good luck. If not, turn down the amps and better train your staff for longevity in the restaurant business.

Forget Rockit, this is the Thursday night spot for burgers and beers in the outdoor patio. The burger blows Rockit's out of the water & you can't beat the talent coming to hang out. Make sure to stop in for a beverage at the bar after dinner - you won't be disappointed.

I would never come back to hub 51. The place is trying to be hotspot but the food and the service are very poor and do not connect with the hype. It took us over an hour to get seated and the hostesses kept telling us it would be 15 more minutes on 4 separate occasions. If you want to come to people watch and do not care about the quality of the food this is a great place to come. Otherwise I would not waste the time. Just a thought...

Had a late lunch on a week day. There were only two other tables taken, so no excuse for cold, greasy fries along with totally bland food. The egg sandwich with brie had the smallest amount of cheese possible, and the whole thing was very bland. I have had better egg sandwiches at Denny's and McDonald's for half as much money and they weren't lukewarm!

Hub 51 was very slow this night, so maybe that's the cause for lackluster service. The food was tasty enough, but not worth the prices. Also, the menu is a little too broad (asian, traditional, mexican...). with all the great dining options in this city, i'll be heading elsewhere.

For starters, the place seemed more like a bar then a restaurant. It was very crowded and the music was really loud. We had to practically yell to speak to one another at the table. The food was horrible. Everything we ordered, with the exception of the tuna appetizer was bland and tasted horribly. The guacamole was the worst dish of all. It tasted like un-ripened avocados, it was horribly under-seasoned and just a mess. Worst of all, when we brought that up to the waiter he didn't offer to get us something else, he simply just said "sorry". Overall bad experience.

The food is oversold my servers. The food is decent at best. The atmosphere is energizing, but the food does not match. Take one big step up and you have the perfect restaurant for starting the evening!
