A Keeper!

Great sandwiches with wide selection of condiments. But the real deal kicks in when you get the "meal". With the sandwiche, you get 2 cold sides (cole slaw, fruit cup, etc.) or 1 hot side (red beans rice, mac cheese) and a soda. Another bonus you can't pass up is the soup priced at whatever the weather is at. So if it's 10 degrees outside, your cup of soup is 10 cents! Choose from matzo ball, white bean, cream spinach, etc. all that for $7.79!

Eh.

An average sandwich at best. Potbelly's is more consistent. Perry's is bigger. Manny's bests them all. If given the choice between Subway and Eppy's, I'd certainly take Eppy's, but that ain't saying much.

One of the best lunch values in the city

After briefly reading over some of the other reviews, I suddenly felt compelled to add my take. While I can sympathize with the review which I believe said that Eppy's was all out of a number of key sandwich ingredients, I am somewhat baffled by the other negative reviews.

Eppy's makes a really amazing version of a sandwich like a person might *aspire* to make at home (however tirelessly a person might try, I'd argue they would not be able to match the Eppy's option). Eppy's offers an array of fresh ingredients, provide the option of a toasted sandwich, and include a choice of 2 sides with any sandwich purchase. As if the great sandwiches at a great value were not enough, they also offer 'Temperature Soup.' In other words, if it is 9 degrees outside, a cup of soup will cost 9 cents (not a bad deal even when its 40 degrees out!).

All in all, Eppy's is a must for anyone who appreciates a good sandwich, and it won't break the bank, either.

I love this place! It's a great deal and the food is delicious. I had the reuban and was impressed. It is huge, juicy and full of flavor. I particularly love the soup deal. I love a restaurant with character and this place does. Larry himself even assured to it that I received great service and understood the menu. Fabulous lunch spot in the loop!

Eat lunch somewhere else.

I went here today and ordered a salad. For $1.50 extra you can get boiled, plain chicken breast on it. I opted for the extra. I actually watched the deli-employee cut up a quarter of a chicken breast and that was all I got!!! The salad was poor and small and cost $8.00 for the chicken "extra." Chipotle across the street is actually tastier and much better value. After spending $8.00 on lunch, who wants to be hungry?!?! If you answered no to that, don't eat here.

Great Lunch Spot

It's amazing how much people complain like the last review. I have been here 8-10 times mainly around 2:00 p.m. and have never had a problem with service. They were out of tuna salad last Friday around 2 however it is Lent so it's understandable. For $7-$8 you get a sandwich, 2 sides a drink and a bowl of soup for whatever the outside temp is. Overall it's a good place and I will continue to go back

No thanks, Mr. Eppy

Wow - I can't get on enough websites quickly enough to spare you your money! Is 1:30 considered the end of the lunch hour? We were told at 1:30 that they were out of swiss cheese and tuna salad due to their lunch rush! (While the place is empty). Don't be fooled by the potato pancake review - there were none on the menu. I was charged 6.75 for a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, and roasted red peppers. No cheese. No meat. The macaroni and cheese was good, but cold! Save your money, there are plenty of other places in the loop to get bread and lettuce for under 6 bucks.
