Chef Kendal Duque (Sepia) is in the kitchen at this Lakeview restaurant and lounge, set to open the second week in December. The decor takes cues from the Art Deco movement and the private supper clubs of the 1930s. Duque’s seasonal eclectic American menu starts off with flatbreads and moves on to soups and salads, “small bites” and “big bites,” many showing Asian, Mediterranean and South American influences. The aim is to remain budget friendly, with dishes topping out at about $15. More casual and neighborhood-focused during the week, Cuna is aiming for a lounge vibe on weekends with a handcrafted cocktail list and DJs spinning Fridays and Saturdays.
