This is not an authentic Korean joint. It is a fusion restaurant of Korean food and other cultures (i.e. mexican). Concept is great and the food is tasty. Their chicken wings alone could make them famous. I plan on going their for my Super Bowl party. The service was spectacular but I think it was the owner who served us. He shows great pride in his work and you can definately see it in the quality of the food.

Stopped in for the first time last week and we're already ordering take out again. The food is amazing. Owners seem like nice guys. We'd really like to see them do well. This is just what the neighborhood needed.

What is the owner going for here? We love Korean food, and the chicken is very good (a bit oily, though). The large tables have benches, which is not very condusive to couples. The menu is confusing and tries too much to be hip. Drink selection (cans of soda) is poor. Why no tea? This is Korean food! Music was supplied by a loud radio which was mostly static. Plasma TV's not necessary.
Korean food is great comfort food. THis place has all the ambiance of a food court at a mall.
The food is quite good. Need to fix the atmosphere.

My wife & I were FLOORED at how good the food was here! I ordered the "Wacky Wacky Wings" (yes, that's the name!), which consisted of a heaping dozen chicken wings, half that were baked in a special chili sauce, and the other half in a sweet glaze. I was in HEAVEN! My wife ordered the "Bad Boy", a rice bowl dish consisting of multitude of vegetables, a fried egg, and a side of chili sauce, all to be mixed into a scrumptious mishmash of flavor and spiciness! Crisp is highly recommended! Jae & Doug, I live way up in Portage Park, but the drive to Crisp will be well worth the trip! See you again soon!

I went to Crisp last weekend with two of my Korean friends, and we all agreed that the food is was excellent! Definitely not a place for an intimate dinner, but great food at a great price. The Korean burritos were scary sounding, but yummy tasting! The Seoul Sassy chicken was the authentic Korean flavor that wings would be at a cafe in Seoul. Go to Crisp for fast, great food at a budget price.

Read about this place and had to try out the chicken. The Seoul Sassy with ginger, soy etc flavor was amazing. The owner was very friendly and I hope they can figure out a way to deliver the chicken soon. I'll be back!

I happen to walk by this place that used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Long and behold...it's something new! I decided to go in anyway and I loved it! I couldn't get enough of the chicken wings! You must try the plain Jane and the BBQ! It's unlike any other places I have tried! The service was excellent and the food was even better! I even took some chicken back home and they were still crispy! I say it's better then KFC or Popeye's!

For anyone who has never had Korean chicken wings (or GASP! never had Korean food at all!), this is a good starter. I could do without the cheesy names, but if a name like Seoul Sassy will get more people to try the perfect combination of sweet, salty flavors highlighting the fried chicken, then Seoul Sassy it is. We had the Seoul Sassy and Plain Jane wings, with sides of the other sauces to try them all; Seoul Sassy wins by a long shot - Plain Jane really is plan and seems boring by comparison, although if you had it on it's own I'm sure it's fine -- nice and crispy, for certain.
Service is friendly, and they've repainted and spruced it up since the Rice Box days, making it a more pleasant environment overall. The owner was nice enough to bring us a plate of "The Green and The Orange" - but.... the veggies were soggy, not crisp or fresh, and the ranch dressing on the side was clearly bottled.
I haven't tried other items on the menu, but it seems to me like they're suffering from too many choices. Wings, sandwiches, burritos (a bi bi bop burrito?), salads, rice bowls and "buds" -- which can be steamed, fried or pan fried -- left me confused about what their "specialties" were. (On a side note: $10 for a bowl of rice and veggies -- essentially a veggie bi bim bop without the traditional fried egg -- seems like a lot for me -- and the meat is still extra...).
Definitely come for the chicken -- and hopefully, given some time, they'll figure out the rest.
FYI -- The cash only situation is on-going -- the owner told someone else it might be a couple weeks -- it seems like they should put up a sign to warn people, but plan on cash only for now.

My boyfriend dragged me to Crisp the other night against my will...but I'm really happy that he did because this place is really good. We tried the fried chicken which was crisp on the outside and juicy throughout. I had one of their rice bowls and it was delicious and fresh. If you don't know what to order, the owners are really nice and helpful, so you can't go wrong. Trust me, this place is great!

Crisp was having a preview sampling of one of their specialty menu items, the funke chicken. chicken was moist and had a really thin and crispy coating that stayed crunchy even with the sauce coating. 2 different sauces were given with the chicken. one spicy and one barbecue. both had asian flavorings and were unlike any other sauces i've had before on fried chicken or buffalo wings. It was sooooo delicious! the owner informed me that they will have dumplings, bi bim bop and salads as well once they open.
I love the bench seating and their logo, but most of all, the chicken! i will be back when they open which according to the owners, will be within 2 weeks. Since the chicken was free and they did not yet have printed menus with prices, i cannot say for sure the value is 5 stars.
