Bolat is temporarily closed for remodeling. It's set to reopen in mid-November.

This Lakeview African spot, once a Taste of Chicago regular, serves a mix of Nigerian and Ghanian fare. Favorites include jollof rice and a variety of spicy stews, including peanut stew and the popular egusi (watermelon seed), traditionally served with fufu (boiled, pounded yams). The space is currently closed for remodeling. When it reopens in November, the restaurant will offer not only the old Bolat menu, but also a seasonal menu that changes every three months to focus on a different region of Africa. Look for an updated cocktail list packing lots of tropical fruits and bright flavors too.
