We have had lunch several times at the Beat Kitchen and it's been great every time! From the thai pizza to the cuban chicken sandwich. The bartender was very friendly. It does take a little extra time to get your food, but that's because everything is freshly made, not out of a freezer or made ahead of time. As far as a live music venue, it is what it is. If you want a cushy chair and a huge room, go to the Star Plaza and pay $100.

Very friendly service and cool place to catch independent bands, local and national.

The food would have been great if we took it home and had the bartender serve us at home.It smelled really bad in the joint.Sorry about the Yankees.

Pizza is outstanding and if you're in a sandwich mood - you have to get the meatloaf sandwich. Waitresses are pretty cute and have seen some pretty decent bands there. Definitely go for the food though! kicks ass.

This review is regarding how the Beat Kitchen handles bands that perform at their venue. Hands down the worst bar to play. The bartenders are incredibly arrogant to band members and regular patrons. Their payout is completley one sided and not fair. Most venues a band can play at will not make you pay extra for the number of people you bring is as this is profit for the bar based on liquor sales. Not Beat Kithcen, not only does the bar take extra money than the norm, the bar staff also takes their cut behind closed doors. I suggest to any band to stay away from this venue and for patrons to support your local bands by voicing your opinion to the Beat Kitchen as well. As for the bar itself, I tend to stay far from bars whose staff thinks they are better than their customers. Myself and my friends will not go here again.

Kind of a mixed bag. Been there for rock shows, which are super loud and smoky, but I guess to be expected. Ordered lunch for carry out one weekday, which is probably unusual for them. Food was just wonderful, but more than a bit pricey for a lunch of sandwiches and salads. The guy at the counter seemed put out when I picked up my $45 worth of food. For lunch, I'd probably stick to fairly nearby Calliope Cafe.
