better places to see shows

for anyone going to see bands, go to other places sub t, double door, beat kitchen, these places are much better for music, have better sound and better atmosphere. Reggie's like everywhere else has very little parking, horrible prices on drinks and seems very very unorganized.

Kudos go to this place for doing something that's cool and in a different hood. However having been here three times, I just don't see how they can make it. We stopped by on a Thursday night for some beers and food. The place was nearly empty, which sometimes is good for the patron (me!). But the service was really quite poor and disinterested. Maybe they were so dead the bartender was bored and didn't notice us right away. But keep in mind this place is still new, so a good attitude should be evident. Guess not. The food we ordered came out missing key items as mentioned on the menu-no excuse for that. Makes me wonder who's running the kitchen? Food also took way too long considering we were about the only ones eating or drinking at that time. Again, the place is newish so we let it slide. Also, the drink prices seemed a bit steep. But hey, someones gotta pay for this place right? Anyway, I've been back twice since then and it's about the same every time. I don't think I'm super fussy or picky but I'm not spending anymore money there. I feel like maybe the management doesn't "get it" or maybe they have no background on how to run a bar and grill. I mean it should at some point become clear that the staff needs polish and the food needs work. If the management can't figure out how to properly run the place, they might want to look into getting people that can. By the way, this review is for the bar and grill side of the place. The music venue is pretty cool and the record store upstairs is good. But honestly, unless the venue is booking bands with a strong draw four or five nights a week, packing the place and selling tons of booze, I don't see how they can make it. Because as I mentioned, the three different times I went (Thurs, Fri and a Saturday) it was dead as could be. maybe it looks that way because the place is so big, but this doesn't bode well. Good luck, but no thanks.

Love this venue soooooo much.

I love this venue. Pretty good sound, nice lounge, excellent beer selection and friendly, knowledgeable staff. I'm confused by the negative review on here. You were upset because you paid for an early show and were asked to leave 15 minutes after it was done so they could get ready for the late show? How is that insulting?

Horrible experience

I was recently at Reggies to enjoy some live music I heard about. I paid 10$ to get in and saw several bands there and was having a great time til the last band had finished. At about 9:45, 15 minutes after the last band finished, we were told we would have to leave the building and pay an additional 10$ to come back in for the next group of artists that were set to perform. I find it a personal insult to the bands and fans that had just performed there and I will not be going back there.

Food is good, people are friendly, music is great. Great location to watch the Bears games too! Even take a ride on Reggie's bus to and from the game. While you there, check out Record Breakers on the 2nd floor for cds, albums and your other music needs.
