Oops, my bad. I just looked it up on wikipedia and I got it all wrong. It was indeed Ringo's alias on the lp. Funny, I heard that rumor several times growing up in the 70's. Guess I'm just as gullible as those in the 60's that thought Paul was dead. Jokes on me.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the Billy Shears reference was about a real person who won a Paul McCartney look-alike contest somewhere. They threw that line in to add to the rumors about Paul being dead at the time. A joke if you will. So despite the fact that a Ringo song followed, it had nothign to do with him.
