Musical alter egos: from Sgt. Pepper to Slim Shady to Sasha Fierce

Tyrese, a.k.a. Black-Ty

R&B star Tyrese took the alter ego concept so far as to release a double album in ’06 plainly called “Alter Ego,” on which he performed half of the tracks as his usual self and half as the rapper Black-Ty. The Tyrese side produced two Billboard-charting singles, but fans pretty much wished they’d never met Black-Ty. Tellingly, he hasn’t been heard from since.
