As of March 19, the Morse has closed.
Originally a 1912 silent screen Nickelodeon, the building reopens in 2008 as a state-of-the-art live performance venue for local and national jazz, folk, blues, classical, Irish and traditional country musicians, as well as for live theater, vintage and independent cinema and kids' and cultural programming. Director Andy McGhee likens the space to a '20s/'30s European cabaret and describes it as "an acoustic-oriented listening room," which also includes an 18-foot high definition video screen for multimedia use and equipment intended for live recording. No standing room, with all seats less than 50 feet from the stage.
