Unsigned Chicago bands just need an opportunity to stand out from the crowd. Listen up, locals: This is your opportunity.
It's the sixth annual Metromix Rock ‘n’ Vote contest. All rappers/metalheads/all-girl funk trio/twin brother singer-songwriters are welcome. Here’s how it works: Send us your demo. We’ll pick 10 favorites, and then metromix readers will listen to the finalists and vote on their faves. The top four acts will headline a free concert at soon-to-open River North spot LaSalle Power Co. (500 N. LaSalle St.). Even better: the grand prize winner from the concert gets a headlining slot at LaSalle Power Co. (date TBD) and the Rock Star Rider Treatment Package, which includes access to the green room, food and beer.
