There are many museums dedicated to wars, but few devoted to peace. This one was founded by peace activists in the '70s and has mounted exhibits of art and historical artifacts related to anti-war movements, protest music, nuclear weapons, fascism and other subjects that fall under the general heading of "peace education." Especially prized in its collection are artifacts--a guitar, a letter, and a lithograph--from John Lennon given to the museum by his widow, Yoko Ono. There is also a signed guitar and original lyrics from U2, as well as items from Joan Baez and other musicians. Children are especially welcome here, and class programs are often developed for school groups.
