this just goes to show how out of touch and almost dangerously irrelevant the Oscars and Hollywood Awards shows generally have become. They get it right with Richard Jenkins and Robert Downey Jr.and a few others and then go tone deaf without a best pic nom for Dark Knight and acting noms for the Jolie-Pitts. For my money the three movies that really stuck with me were: The Dark Knight, Man on a Wire, Wall-E, and The Visitor. I heard a quote from someone that said "Politics is the entertainment branch of the industry." I feel like the Oscars has become the Political side of the industry. Not art based.
