I should add that this is one of the most realistic films I have seen that seems to depict real people one could meat in various places; Man movies bang one over the head with metaphysical beliefs and judgements about how things work and one powers in the grand scheme of things cf "Butterfly Effect" and "Premonition" and spend lots of time preaching what one should and shouldn't do. This one doesn't it just depicts and realistic situation with an admirable lead character who does very well in a very complicated and scary situation. It certainly proejects a postive self image for girls.

Really I thought this was close to one of the 11 best movies I habve seen; it certainly is the the one that comes closest to real lifw as I have expierenced it. So it gets my vote as being realistic. Everything is portrayed with a pretty good lack of cliches. The young female lead is slightly fantastic but believebly could exist; Much of the time when I see movies about people they seem unrealistic and pandering this one is not. It is very well done.
