Its true, Anyone with half a brain can memorize fabricated stories from an out dated scroll, but when it comes to the survival of the Jewish people is that what really matters. Otherwise I agree, name calling is not appropriate. Im sorry to all those I may have offended but these are only opinions backed with facts. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Dont mean to put you on the spot praying mantis but since when is investing Palestinian, Israeli, and American lives in a desert intelligent. Im jewish by ethnicity and believe in a jewish state, but why would I want to surround a jewish state by people who hate jews. Fundamentalist jews are ignorant and I have little respect for them, in fact many of them are anti-zion as proved in Religulous. The fundamentalist Jews that do believe in israel, however, are so stubborn and greedy that they have no idea how many anti semites they're up against. They are constantly pushing the west bank borders back by re locating their jewish settlements so they can live in the original Jewish Home Land, meanwhile they are putting more lives in danger than just their own.

I have not seen the movie. Unsure if I will. But comments by people on this site seem to miss the point of social commentary. Name-calling "brain-washed, non thinking religious" people and "Zionist Pig." HMmm. that's true. As far as the accusation that people who believe are stupid, that's just ridiculous. Becoming a rabbi or a priest requires 5-6 years of graduate studies. Most reverands study 3 yrs. graduate school. At least to be a rabbi, is grueling. Only the top students are accepted to seminary, and the studying is very extensive. You may not believe in religion yourself, but that doesn't make those of us who do "brain-washed" or unintelligent! Review the movie. Leave the name-calling out!

"is a Zionist pig that get way to much air time" Dude do you even know what a zionist is? Read a flipping book you idiot. Zionism is an international political movement that originally supported the reestablishment of a homeland for the Jewish People in Palestine (Hebrew: Eretz Yisra'el, “the Land of Israel”), and continues primarily as support for the modern state of Israel.[1] Are you telling me, Bill Maher, a man who makes fun of religion, wants to keep isreal safe? Good point (sigh) You people are idiots. Go back to church & have Aesop read you a fable.

I will definetly see this movie..as a person born into the Catholic religion I have many doubts about whether we are the universal religion and all others just don't have the road to salvation as we do. I don't believe that claim, as a thinking, caring individual....that is the trouble with organized religion...religions as we kmow them are not inclusive and tolerant as I think Jesus Christ would want them to be with less b/s and more intelligent discourse...what are people afraid of?

Finally! Someone who sings my song - Bill Maher. If I believed in God, I would praise him/her for you, Bill. You have to know up front, reader, that I am an agnostic secular humanist. The critics have it right. The move is a B. I had hoped, given his wit and intellect, Bill would have done a more organized job of ridiculing (that's where title comes from) the three monotheistic religions. But it was definitely funny. E.g., "You don't have to pass an IQ test to be in the Senate," said the Senator. I and the other nine people in the theater laughed out loud a number of times. I had to drive 75 miles to see the movie since I live in a Republican, religious right, rural stronghold. Compared to say Michael Moore, Bill is not as good as far as the flow of the movie. I think he needed a consultant. Nevertheless, it was well worth going, but as I said, I'm already in the choir.

Religion has had the upperhand for too long. It deserves a backhanded swipe. Mahr is a bit egotistical. Forgive him.

A great movie. Born an Orthodox Christian, in India, I enjoyed the reality of "hate" addressed in organized religion. Look at the hyprocrisy of religion, we pray to God for victory when we go to war. What happened to the law "thou shall not kill"? I appreciate Mother Teresa that has given away her wordly possessions to help the poor, while other clergyman use their faith as a money maker to gain wealth. It's something no one wants to see, talk about, and confront, but lets face it, many people are defined solely by their religion. I would like to see a church of just "good people". The belief in God is beautiful, but when we start building churches and temples, the human element corrupts our ideals. India is a perfect example of this. Every known religion exists there. The country is disfunctional due to organized religion. A bold look at this human tragedy. Highly recommended.

I can't wait to watch the movie. Only 2 theaters in Houston dare to show it. I will drive there and I'm sure it will be worth the trip. Claudia Torres The Woodlands
