I agree with girlfry - the book showed us more in-depth the emotional hardship that this family had to experience. The movie just touched the surface of the characters, as well as the plot. I did not like how this movie jumped back and forth and did not even allow us to experience the traumatic development of Anna and why she was so passionate about her medical emancipation process. This movie just demonstrates how Hollywood wants to attract viewers to the cinema - the entire movie was "glossy" and typical. If you want to get the true story, then you MUST read the book, otherwise you are just watching another typical drama of a dying cancer patient. I am surprised that Jodi Picoult allowed her novel to be so misinterpreted.

This movie was horrible! I have read the book and was super excited to see the movie. I have read several books and then seen the movies after. I know they can't put an entire book into the short time period available to the movie. So much was left out of this movie and there were things put in unnecessarily. The end of this movie was pointless. I am so disappointed that Jodi Picoult would allow her book to be twisted like this and her fans to be ripped off. I spent more on the ticket to see this movie than I did for the book. Wait for DVD so if you are as angry as everyone else in the theater you can be angry for $4 instead of $9 without popcorn.....
