Surveillance cameras capture lurid fictional happenings in this drama of intersecting lives—a high school student wants to seduce her nerdy English teacher, a department store manager has sex with employees in the storage room, a closeted lawyer hides his sexuality from his wife, a pedophile stalks children, etc.

Big question:
Does writer-director Adam Rifkin actually believe he has something important to say with this ludicrous mess of a movie?

Skip it: Monumentally stupid on every level, “Look” immediately announces its pervy purpose with a scene of two teen girls stripping to their thongs in a dressing room. To state the obvious and say that this movie hates women misses the larger point—it hates the audience. Rifkin wants us to buy his loathsome hodgepodge of web cam clichés as some sort of riff on “post-9/11 surveillance.” Too bad there’s not a provocative political thought anywhere in sight.

Catch it: For acting so bad it’ll give porn stars hope of one day winning an Oscar.

Bottom line: This movie sucks. It’s juvenile, incompetent, offensive and utterly pointless. The only thing that kept me watching was the nagging question, “could this get any worse?” It did.

Bonus: Somehow “Look” managed to win a grand jury award at the CineVegas film festival. Yes, what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas.
