Margot at the Wedding: User Reviews
When the movie started I didn't know what I was getting myself into, and when it ended I didn't really know what to think. I had to ask myself if I liked it. And I did. The characters were defined very well right away and I was able to become emotionally attached to them, which I find is a hard thing for a writer and director to accomplish. The characters were so 'insanely' normal, anyone watching it is analyzing a family member that moment. Which I did! I was surprised at the role Kidman took on in this film, I'm proud almost. Such an unstable role is hard to portray and she pulled it off immaculately. Jack Black of course is magical and in complete control of his offhand character. Jennifer Leigh I was excited to see again, considering I haven't seen her work for some time now. I loved her in this film. She's so natural and endearing. At times the movie got a bit weird for my taste but you walk away from it accepting that it was necessary to make the film what it is... Real!
