Season six: The romance

Tender moments: After almost kissing in the first “X-Files” movie, the agents’ relationship comes to the fore of the series. In the episode "Triangle," a time-bending encounter with a woman from the past who looks like Scully prompts Mulder to tell the modern version: “I love you.” Her reply: “Oh, brother.” They later shower together, but since they’re being scrubbed down for radiation decontamination by federal agents, it’s not very romantic.
