The apology: "Me, Myself & Irene"

Why apologize?: Rubber-faced comedian Jim Carrey’s first venture into meaty dramatic territory, “The Truman Show,” was an adult-skewing hit. But his Andy Kaufman biopic, “Man on the Moon,” barely crossed the $30 million mark, suggesting hardcore fans preferred his spastic schtick.
Did it work?: Kinda, sorta, a little. Carrey’s reunion with lowbrow “Dumb & Dumber” auteurs Peter and Bobby Farrelly, proved he wanted to win back young-male followers. And the $90 million gross was solid, to be sure. But it wasn’t earth-shattering, and even Carrey and Farrelly Brothers die-hards aren’t very passionate about it today.
