It takes some effort, but it is possible to remember the days when Martin Lawrence’s presence in movies wasn't a bad thing, back in the days of “Do the Right Thing” and “Bad Boys.” But it’s been years since the actor has done anything even remotely respectable. (Does animation get much worse than “Open Season”?)

Lawrence's recent track record—“Wild Hogs” last year, and “College Road Trip” and “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins” this year—indicates he has no plans to slow down. That is very, very scary for us all.
