Will Ferrell

When Will Ferrell’s surrounded by funny bits, like in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” he’s totally, wildly hilarious. When the material around him feels as fresh as last year’s mayonnaise, like “Semi-Pro,” Ferrell’s big-dumb-animal shtick just seems flat-out exhausted.

“Blades of Glory” worked just fine but “Talladega Nights” was pretty weak, and the stench from the box office disappointment and mostly laugh-free “Semi-Pro” still smells up Ferrell's gym locker.
