The “Saturday Night Live” alum mixes it up on occasion, convincing that he's ready for drama in “Punch-Drunk Love” and then making us question that judgment in “Reign Over Me.” But mostly he’s stuck to juvenile comedies.
In the wake of “Click”—which added horrible melodrama to his usual formula—and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” we’re seriously longing for the, er, glory days of “Billy Madison.” Otherwise, Adam, it’s time to pass on the comedies that favor being stupid over being funny.
