“Silent Night, Deadly Night” (1984)

There’s no shortage of Christmas-related horror movies, but this nasty slasher is probably the most iconic. The morality police were outraged over TV ads featuring a killer Santa back in the ‘80s and successfully got the film banned from theaters. Siskel and Ebert even bashed it on their show. Of course that only helped increase the flick’s cult fanbase. Four sequels followed and a remake is in the works.
