9. "I, Robot" (2004)

The robot: Sonny

The program: It’s 2035 and society works robots harder than unpaid interns. Until the mysterious death of an important inventor spawns a search for a missing robot named Sonny by a misrobothropic homicide detective (Will Smith).

The result: Director Alex Proyas ("The Crow," "Dark City") creates a sleek antithesis to his earlier Hot Topic inspired works, but unfortunately dispenses of most of science fiction writer Isaac Asimov’s original vision.
