Watching for ‘Watchmen’
The fanboy community has waited a whopping 23 years to see Alan Moore’s “Watchmen” brought to the big screen. After filmmakers from Terry Gilliam to Darren Aronofsky had their adaptation dreams dashed, it finally fell to Zack Snyder (“300”) to breath cinematic life into the complex deconstruction of the moral and psychological gray areas of superhero vigilantism.
As the history of rabidly anticipated, geek-targeted films has taught us, fanboys have grown accustomed to waiting for what they want, and they can be counted on to be extremely vocal in their disapproval if they’re not happy with the result.
