"The Song Remains the Same" (1976)
Led Zeppelin proves in intricate detail why they are the true monsters of rock in this film compiled from three 1973 concerts at New York’s cavernous Madison Square Garden. The fantasy scenes that interrupt the concert footage verge on corny to contemporary eyes but it’s still an irresistible sight to see a vivacious Robert Plant atop a galloping black stallion, his luxuriously long blonde hair whipping in the breeze. But even that’s not anywhere near as cool John Bonham’s brain-twisting 11-minute drum solo.
