Another indelible fast-talker in the Coen canon is imposing Hollywood studio mogul Lipnick, ignorant of the artists toiling beneath him (he claims to want “that Barton Fink feeling” from the titular playwright, but doesn’t seem to know what that means) and prone to volcanic temper tantrums. Were the Brothers lampooning some of the industry overlords they’ve had to work with?
