"Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991)/"True Lies" (1994)

Here are two reasons why the team of James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger ruled the realm of '90s escapism.

The match-up of Schwarzenegger-in-a-Harrier-jet against terrorists-in-a-skyscraper earns "True Lies" points for creative audacity. But the conceptual simplicity of seeing Schwarzenegger mow down police cars with a Gatling gun, while avoiding human casualties (because he's a *good* terminator), doesn't make "Terminator 2" any less exciting.
