1997 was a big year for Jackson at the movies, starting with Paul Thomas ("There Will Be Blood") Anderson’s first film where he played Jimmy, a Reno lowlife who blackmails the main character, Sydney.

Badass moment: Jimmy shatters a car window (with his hand) and, in an escalating rage laced with colorful expletives (in classic Jackson form), demands Sydney’s money.
