“Alfie” (2004)

The story: This remake of the '60s Michael Caine vehicle puts Jude Law in the role of a charming cad who goes through women like changes of clothes only to discover he really wants one true love.
Bromance rating: 1. Jude Law is many things—talented, good-looking, prolific—but "macho" isn't one of them.
Was it successful?: Due to Law's pretty-boy features and the metrosexual fashion sense he flaunted in the role, Alfie wasn't a figure guys readily identified with, even if they envied his sexual batting average. And it's not like women were dying to see some promiscuous jerk brag about his conquests directly to the camera. Is it any wonder the movie walked away with the sorry digits of a $13 million gross?
