ROBERT ALTMAN AWARD

"I'm Not There" nabbed the Robert Altman award for ensemble cast. In the middle of taking questions in the press tent, director Todd Haynes noticed that onstage they were about to announce the winner of best director (for which he was nominated).
"Can you guys hold on for a second?" He asked, and everyone paused to watch the tiny press tent televisions. It was Julian Schnabel. Haynes turned and said, "Well, I guess we've got time for more questions."
