You loved the movie, what about the DVD?

Find out as we examine the extras on this week's best movie DVDs...

“STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI: UNLEASHED & UNRATED”

Stars: Kristen Kreuk, Chris Klein, Neal McDonough
Director: Andrzej Bartkowiak (“Doom”)
Format: DVD, Blu-ray
What we said: "Coming soon: The origin of Pac-Man's taste for dots."

Extras: DVD: Theatrical and the unrated versions of the movie; commentary by McDonough, Klein and producers Patrick Aiello and Ashok Amritraj; deleted scenes; “Chun Li: Bringing the Legend to Life,” “Fox Movie Channel Presents Making a Scene” and “Recreating the Game: Arcade to Film Comparisons” featurettes; a sneak peek at the game “Marvel vs. Capcom 2”; “The Fight in Black and White” storyboard gallery; “Behind the Fight: Production Gallery”; “Street Fighter Round One: FIGHT!” animated comic movie.
Blu-ray: All DVD extras plus a digital copy of the unrated version.

Worth watching: The “Marvel vs. Capcom 2” sneak peek. It’s totally old school but still way more fun than watching the movie.
Worth skipping: The “Recreating the Game: Arcade to Film Comparisons” featurette. It’ll only depress you when you realize they paid so much attention to details, but not the important ones: plot and characters.
Worth adding: Playable demos of “Street Fighter IV,” “Marvel vs. Capcom 2” and “Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix,” so you can see the real Chun-Li in action.

Buy, rent or ignore: Ignore.

“12 ROUNDS: EXTREME CUT”
Stars: John Cena, Ashley Scott, Aidan Gillen
Director: Renny Harlin (“Die Hard 2”)
Formats: DVD, Blu-ray
What we said: "Assuming that audiences are dumb enough to pay money for a movie that should've premiered on Spike TV is the worst kind of cynicism. Don't fall for it."

Extras: DVD: Theatrical and “Extreme Cut” versions of the movie; commentary by Harlin, Cena and writer Daniel Kunka; two alternate endings; “Crash Course: John Cena Stunts” featurette; gag reel.
Blu-ray: DVD extras plus “Streetcar Crossing: Film with Caution,” “12 Bonus Rounds: Making Magic Behind-the-Scenes,” “Keeping Score: The Music of ‘12 Rounds’” and “Round and Round with Director Renny Harlin and John Cena" featurettes; viral videos.

Worth watching: The gag reel is funnier than you’d expect from an ex-wrestler who isn’t named The Rock.
Worth skipping: The two alternate endings. One was enough (though we’ll let you decide which one).
Worth adding: Let Scott join the commentary. Sure, she’s just playing the girl in distress, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have anything interesting to say.

Buy, rent or ignore: Rent.

“DO THE RIGHT THING: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION”
Stars: Spike Lee, Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis
Director: Spike Lee (“Malcolm X”)
Formats: DVD, Blu-ray
What we say: Obama is in the White House, but the rise in racially motivated crimes makes this incendiary movie as relevant today as it was two decades ago.

Extras: DVD: “Do the Right Thing: 20 Years Later,” a new retrospective documentary; deleted and extended scenes; a new commentary by Lee; an earlier commentary by Lee, cinematographer Ernest Dickerson, production designer Wynn Thomas and actor Joie Lee; Spike Lee’s personal behind-the-scenes footage; “Making ‘Do the Right Thing’” featurette; Cannes 1989 footage; an interview with editor Barry Brown; storyboards of the riot scene; trailers and TV spots.
Blu-ray: DVD extras plus BD-Live functions.

Worth watching: The “Making ‘Do the Right Thing’” featurette followed by “Do the Right Thing: 20 Years Later” provide an interesting then-vs.-now perspective on the film.
Worth skipping: Spike’s behind-the-scenes footage isn’t all that enlightening.
Worth adding: An interview with Barack Obama conducted by Lee about how he feels about the film from both an entertainment and social perspective, as well as its relevance to today’s American society.

Buy, rent or ignore:
Buy.
