Inspiration Cafe (a branch of the nonprofit Inspiration Corporation) works with homeless adults, offering an array of supportive services, including daily meal service (meals are served in a restaurant-like setting and food is prepared and served by volunteers), counseling and referrals (for services like healthcare), a culinary skills job-training program, employment preparation training and a healthy living program. People interested in helping out can call 773-878-0981, ext. 219, or send e-mail to volunteer@inspirationcafe.org for volunteer opportunities, which range from teaching computer and yoga classes to helping prepare and serve food.
