Montrose Park

This wide, curving beach is the United Nations of Chicago beaches. Situated near the multi-ethnic Uptown neighborhood, it's impossible to count the number of languages spoken here. The water is shallow with a small dropoff, making it perfect for water Frisbee. There's also a boat launch, volleyball, a breakwater, concessions, a bird sanctuary and ample parking. Farther north, at Wilson Avenue, there's a jet-ski launch and windsurfing. The fishing pier at Montrose is one of the city's most popular.
