The center aims to be a focal point for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community of Chicago, serving its diverse social, recreational, cultural and social service needs. The three-story community center features a free gym and computer lab with free WiFi access for the entire facility, and the center can be rented for birthdays, ceremonies and other events. A Whole Foods grocery store is adjacent to the center, providing more parking with a two-level underground lot.
The plush, 170-seat Hoover-Leppen Theatre serves as the resident space for two non-equity companies, sketch ensemble GayCo and Hubris Productions. Also, expect to see About Face Theatre (currently in residence at Victory Gardens Greenhouse) in January 2008. The theater also hosts lectures, conferences, worship services and other community events.
