The best Holiday ArtShow in Chicago year after year! Love it---three rooms loaded with artists in each room! An ArtShow you don't want to miss! I do almost all my holiday shopping there every year!

I had a wonderful time here. I went for a birthday party. We paid $30 for 3 hours and drank unlimited amounts until the time was up. I had a great time. They put us in a booth and treated us like king and queens. I would recommend this place to all ages. The music was awesome, and the place is gorgeous!

I've been eating at Bien Trucha on and off for 3 1/2 years. Most recently I was there this afternoon for lunch--I took a friend and her daughter. There seems to be a whole lot of people in the kitchen and Bien Trucha must have increased their staff by 400%. When the young girl requested that her torta not include avocado, our server commented that the chef doesn't allow menu changes. When I commented that her torta was her whole meal -- she didn't want tacos -- would they please bring her torta out with our first taco, I was informed that the chef doesn't let them do that--it must be one entree at a time. Huh. Either the chef has gotten grumpy in 3-1/2 years or something else is going on. Did they really want this young girl to eat by herself and then watch us eat our meal? And, does the "chef" care about dietary concerns? Pity the person who has allergies when they go to Bien Trucha. Perhaps the chef has had his fill of special requests and is afraid of his concept deteriorating? Perhaps they are so busy they can’t handle special requests? Perhaps it doesn’t really matter. In this economy I would imagine a restaurant, even a very successful restaurant, needs to take care of its customers. Bien Trucha, please, don’t get so famous and well-reviewed that you forget about your costumers. It's not just about really good food and a slick environment. I was very disappointed.

Loft is one of my favorite spots to go on the weekend ... be it the funky dj that spins a plethora of oldies and new jams or the awesome food I can order at 130am when I have had too much to drink (Sweet Potato Fries anyone?) -- I always have a blast! They have great drink wristband specials, no cover, ample seating (if you call ahead to reserve), the cocktail servers are helpful and quick, the VIP treatment you get with Bottle Service is on point, and its a great place to hold a private party (so I hear). All in all, I usually have a great time at this place, so check it out

When talking about the best restaurants to open in 2009, Branch 27 would have to be considered. Especially now that they've revamped the menu with mouthwatering dishes including lamb, duck, rabbit, and truffles. Dont sleep on the tri-tip tartar. It's amazing.

Stop in for a latte and it was delicious! Winston's isn't your typical cafe, which truly makes it unique. It just opened up a week ago so they are still working out some kinks. But, no doubt that Winston's is here to stay. I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed my visit to EA. It was a present from my girlfriend for my birthday. The attendant took me to the spa. Behind a beautiful spa door I found myself in different world. It was so quiet here, soft music in the background candlelight on the walls, dimmed light and a nice aroma. I was taken to the men’s locker room where I took a shower. I like to warm up my muscles before massage. I changed into a robe and was taken to quiet waiting room with beautiful windows overlooking chicago and a warm fireplace. The masseuse took me to a nice peaceful room where her skillful hands massage the stress of the day. Her name was Kristin. It was the best massage I ever had. After the massage I was taken to the waiting room and offered great mint tea. I felt de-stressed and energized at the same time. Thanks Kristin I will be back. Five stars. Side note: To get to the spa you have to walk through a very busy salon... The spa itself is beautiful though.

Have friends who are regulars at de cero. So my wife and I decided to join them on a recent Saturday night. First off this is not a place to have a conversation and catch up, you can't hear yourself think. Acoustics are awful, I've been to many loud restaurants but the loudness here was deafening. A mix of music and voices. Then there was our server who was alright but just not big on personal hygiene. i.e dirty finger nails. As far as the food goes, we were left unimpressed and were hesitant to tell our friends but they too were noticing the change since their last visit. Bland tacos, guac needed salt which wasn't on the tables, and pork chop was sent back for an odd taste. Needless to say we will not be back and our friends have found a new mexican place to frequent.

Going in this retaurant has a nice look and feel, but the food and service is just plain bad. They were out of what was ordered. The fresh fruit was mush. It all took forever for anything to be served. None of it was cheap either. Maybe in the future the kinks will worked out, but there are a lot of major issues. It's arestaurant with bad service and food for now.
mariethegreek wrote about Yanni's Greek Cuisine
I made reservations for 10 people to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday on Dec 4th, 2009. The food at Yannis was good but the service not so great. About 9:30pm, the hostess came to our table and asked us to leave because our table was reserved to someone else. (That night they had a Greek entertainment.) We didn’t have time to finish our coffee and we had to get up and go so that the tables could be rearranged for the next patrons. The way we were treated was very unprofessional. I will NEVER go to Yanni’s restaurant again and I will NEVER recommend Yanni’s to anyone. I have a suggestion for the owner (its clear has no clue how to run a business) make a decision if you want to run Yanni’s as a restaurant or a nightclub and stick with one.

I liked it! Every thing is more interesting and tasty than it sounds on the menu. I had the Korean BBQ Kogi...great! Look at what people are eating and if it looks good try it.

I was recommended to try this place out by a couple friends who know their food. So I went with my cousin and we split our meals to get a better idea of what the menu was all about. For starters, we got a chopped salad and the spanish muscles. For the main course, my cousin had the BLT and I had the House burger your way (with a fried egg on it). The chop salad was VERY VERY good and the muscles were excellent. The muscles had sausage mixed in there. It was a really nice blend of flavors. I tried my cousin's BLT first, and I have to say that I have never had bacon that good in my life. It was cut thick and so flavorful. I liked the bread they made the sandwich with and I think it had a fried green tomato in it which was pretty cool. All together it was a great sandwich. The burger was really good too, I have never had one with a fried egg on it. I think I would get it the same way again. We shared a side of hand cut fries that came with an aioli. They were nice and not greasy at all. I give the service an A, our server was very nice and attentive. The decor was really cool. I liked the small little booths that have the curtains. Our server told us a little about the place and she mentioned that the TVs are all retractable. I have to check them out on a late Friday night! Overall, this is a place I would come back to. UPDATE: I went last night and had the amish chicken - the BEST broiled chicken I have ever had. Seriously. No Joke. I really liked that it was mostly deboned and I would love to find out how they got the skin so crispy and the meat soo juicy. It was topped with their hand cut fries. Plating was very nice too. We had some starters that were pretty good too. The flat bread was so good, we ordered a second (guys night out to watch the bears game) and the duck wings were surprisingly good, I liked the dipping sauce. It was like a greek tzatziki sauce. I tried some of my buddy's giardiniera and it was again really good.

My fiance Mary and I recently had dinner at the Melting Pot in Downers Grove. I had called ahead and asked for a secluded and romantic table to propose. They not only provided that to my satisfaction, but also went the extra mile with fresh roses in a vase and a number of elegantly placed candles to set the mood. They did a wonderful job and the service throughout the meal was spectacular. The food was delicious and we were not rushed through the meal at any time. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and my marriage proposal was accepted. We are looking forward to going back on our anniversary.

This review as far as I can tell is the only one that is current.. This lounge is a place to go hang out with friends. The bar staff is super friendly, the music on Friday and Saturday nights is amazing. It starts out with chill lounge music, and bumps up at the right time to amazing house music!. On other nights there is a juke box with a ton of selections to fit all needs. It is not a big spot, it is not pretentious, and you can usually always avoid annoying just turned 21 year olds that act like complete tools. Great spot for birthdays or just get togethers with friends. I highly recommend for anyone willing to experience good service, good music, and a spot that should be known for amazing friends. :) (oh, they have decent drink specials, but they are right smack in the middle of the riviera and aragon ball room, so expect top shelf to cost top shelf. But if your willing, the well is not so bad and a good price). Hope to see you there!
gratamama wrote about Pannenkoeken Cafe
Being married to a Dutch guy and just having returned from Holland (and multiple pancake houses) I was excited to finally give Pannenkoeken Cafe (the new one or the old one a try) Pancake-wise, they were pretty good - although I don't remember many pancakes having cheese in them over there (maybe I just didn't order them.) I got a Dutch apple and ordered bacon on the side for the top to see if it could bring me back to my recent trip.... The pancake was pretty good . However, this North Avenue location gets a D on ambiance. It's just about the most vanilla place I've ever been in — aside from the totally non-conforming blood red women's restroom — and is totally lacking in the coziness, the "gezellig," that gives true Dutch pancake places their charm. They need to redecorate, get better staff, consider a beer permit to go with those pancakes and lose the cash-only policy. Annoying!

It amazed me that when I entered the owners are the only ones there. And, they are cooking your food! One of the owners is Tony from Hell's Kitchen TV show, and he is straight up cooking in front of you in the open kitchen. I ordered the Fish & Chips which are probably the best I've ever had. My friend got the Fried Shrimp that came with fries which where better than any fried shrimp house in Chicago.......I'm totally serious! Its gourmet food, without the bulls@#t! You must GO! GO! GO!
Kappakaps wrote about Junior's Sports Lounge
I have been to junior's a couple of times but its been a couple years since then so we thought we might try it again. This past saturday will be the last time we ever go there. When we first came in we sat at a table in the middle of the bar. We saw plenty of waitresses walking around but we were given no service. We finally went up to the bar to order drinks. Then we had to move to a different table because they wanted to move our table to make a "dance floor". Ok....whatever. We sat in the back part of the bar. We were there for a total of about 2.5 hours. We sat there and watched every table be served by the waitress except us. the fact that we were being ignored seemed blatant and deliberate. We ordered one round of shots ( we walked up to the bar to get them). The bartender didn't know how to make it (it was soco lime) How can you be a bartender and not know how to make basic shots? This place was an awful disappointment. Don't waste your time!
