The Northshore Concert Band begins its concert season with Zero to Sixty! conducted by Artistic Director Dr. Mallory Thompson. This exhilarating program features the world premiere of Michael Martin’s high-octane Zero to Sixty! written to celebrate Northshore Concert Bands’ 60th anniversary. Mr. Martin, fourth trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is joined by his brother Christopher Martin, principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as they go head-to-head in a fiery “sibling rivalry” performance of Bizet’s Carmen Fantasia for Two Solo Trumpets and Wind Ensemble! This program concludes with Karel Husa’s Music for Prague 1968. The NCB Auxiliary hosts a reception following the conclusion of this concert.
