The Young Community Action Network hosts its first ever Food Truck Fest and five trucks will be parked onsite with a diverse array of sweet and savory treats, as well as live music, beverages and yard games. Funds raised at this city-like event will support Loaves & Fishes Community Services’ multi-faceted approach to ending hunger. In 2014, Loaves & Fishes initiated discussion with young professionals in the western suburbs of Chicago about how to engage more members of Generation Y in its mission. As a result of this dialogue, the Young Community Action Network (YCAN) was created. The Food Truck Fest, features food from Yum Dum, OMango, Pizza Via, Señor Taco and Sweet Ride food trucks. Live music will be performed by the EcoLimes and Joey J. Saye, plus, the 95.9 The River Road Crew will be on-site throughout the day with fun activities and great prizes. The Food Truck Fest is free to attend; however, a donation of $5 or a non-perishable food item is suggested. Loaves & Fishes is located at 1871 High Grove Lane in Naperville, and provides multi-faceted programs, such as job search support, food assistance, skill-based classes and public benefit assistance, to low-income, west suburban residents.
