We have a 4 and 7 year old and this was not worth it at all. There was hardly anything for them to do, very few bugs for them to see/touch. We went in early August and there were 3 bugs for them to touch. There were maybe 10 to look at and maybe 3-5 interactive activities that held their attention for less than 2 minutes. We were in and out of there in less than 15 minutes.
The coolest part were the huge insect replicas on your way in and out of the exhibit. My kids liked this better. While the price for the kids to enter the exhibit isn't bad, they get you with what they charge adults. So if your kids insist on going and you can get away with only one adult going in, I would do it that way.
