See tens of millions of dollars of historic rare coins and colorful paper money, including the first gold coin made for the USA in 1787 and insured today for $10 million, at the World's Fair of MoneySM, August 5 - 9, 2014. It's a family-friendly, educational event sponsored by the nonprofit American Numismatic Association ( Free admission on "Free Appraisal Day," Saturday, August 9, when experts will give complimentary, educational appraisals of the public's old coins and paper money. There will be daily educational seminars and a children's treasure trivia game for youngsters to win free coins. Eye-opening exhibits include examples of the world's earliest known money dating back 2,600 years; a legendary Brasher Doubloon, the first gold coin made for the U.S. in 1787 and insured now for $10 million; an example of the first coin ever authorized by President George Washington in 1792 and valued today at a quarter-million dollars; one of the five known, famous 1913 Liberty Head nickels valued at $2.5 million; and a fabled 1804 U.S. silver dollar insured for $4 million.
