A presentation of the hour-long documentary “Chester Gould: An American Original,” a film about the life of cartoonist Chester Gould, creator of Dick Tracy. Seating is limited to the first 152 guests. The film takes the viewer on the journey from Chester Gould’s roots through every stage of his dynamic career. Gould began work on the strip at the Chicago Tribune in 1931. Immediately after the showing, Read Between the Lynes hosts a “Meet the Filmmakers” discussion and DVD signing at the bookstore’s new location, 111 Van Buren, on the Woodstock Square.
