Tim Wittman explores the life of preeminent architect Mies van der Rohe, who was an advocate for innovation in design. As the director of the Bauhaus in Germany, he was blacklisted by the Nazi party for his dismissal of tradition. Van der Rohe later emigrated to Chicago, where he melded European Modernist aesthetics with American engineering excellence.
