The Adler Planetarium celebrates 3.1415926, from 12 to 4 p.m. with a family friendly event, followed by a nighttime event from 6 to 10 p.m. for those 21 and older only. "During the day, guests can enjoy a pie-eating contest, parachuting pies challenge, 'pie in the sky' safe solar observing and more," according to an announcement. "Don't miss the Nerd Confessional Booth staffed by the ladies of the WBEZ Nerdette podcast and a lecture on Pi and Einstein by Adler Astronomer Shane Larson." At night, adult attendees get the run of the museum, cash bars, music from Vocalo's DJ Collective and some surprises.
