David M. Sokol, Professor Emeritus of Art History at UIC presents a program on how the farms, fields, and waterways that define the Midwestern landscape have been depicted in art. In a departure from the romanticism of nature, see how the interpretation dramatically changed during the Depression, the years following WWll through the contemporary view of the Midwest in paintings, photographs and prints.
