Mel Brooks produced, directed, wrote, and starred in this 1981 farcical telling of the history of mankind from the Stone Age to the French Revolution. Many critics and fans consider the film to be his funniest and most innovative work. Narrated by Orson Welles, it stars many of Brooks's regular troop including Sid Caesar, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman, and Gregory Hines.
