The Waukegan Park District’s Cultural Arts Division is celebrating the Japanese Star Festival – Tanabata. This festival takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year, when according to legend, two stars, Altair and Vega, usually separated from each other by the Milky Way, are able to meet.  Make a wish for clear weather as a personal wish or haiku poem for the upcoming year is attached to the “wishing tree” otherwise, Altair and Vega cannot meet. Registration is not required. Call for further details or if special accommodations are needed.
