Live symphonic orchestra concert featuring the American premieres of thrilling Japanese monster movie music (Godzilla, Gamera and more) by Akira Ifukube and Kow Otani, conducted by John DeSentis. For the second year running, it’s a full orchestral concert of classic Kaiju monster movie music presented at the vintage Art Deco Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge. A professional 54-piece symphonic orchestra under the direction of composer, arranger and film researcher John DeSentis. will perform the thrilling, nostalgic music of Akira Ifukube (composer for the original 1954 Godzilla and many others) and the more contemporary work from the 1990s of Kow Otani, acclaimed film, anime and video game composer. Mr. Otani will be present from Japan for the world premiere of these suites from his Gamera and Godzilla kaiju films. A follow-up to last year's acclaimed IFUKUBE 100 concert, held in conjunction with G-FEST XXII, the world's only Godzilla convention, held the weekend of July 10-12 at the Crowne Plaza Rosemont.
